When is Election Day 2024? November 5, 2024

The polls will be open in Sedgwick County from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day and any voters in line by 7pm are still allowed to vote. The election workers will be there to give everyone instructions so you’ll know what to do and where to be.

Note: the Sedgwick County website says they anticipate long lines at some polling locations, so leave plenty of time to get your vote in. Kansas also allows early voting, which starts 20 days before Election Day and closes at noon the day before Election Day. Early voting options include mail-in ballots, which must be postmarked by Election Day and received within three days afterward, as well as early in-person voting at designated polling locations.

If you’re registered to vote in Kansas, find your polling place here. If you need a ride to the polls, you can use the Wichita Transit system FREE on election day.

(Speaking of the cost of freedom, we’re beginning to see several Veterans Day freebies and deals announced. Be sure to check them out if you are or know a veteran.)

Krispy Kreme is voting for a FREE Original Glazed doughnut for anyone on election day, even if you don’t have the coveted “I voted” sticker, because they’ll give you one. (Ooh, so if you didn’t get the sticker, make Krispy Kreme your first election day freebie stop and then you’ll have one for any other deals that require it that day.)

Pizza to the Polls If you’re in line to vote and the wait is going to be over an hour, you might try out giving Pizza to the Polls a heads-up. It’s a non-profit, non-partisan organization that exists solely to feed the hungry voting masses with free pizza. Now, presumably and according to their website, their group delivers nationwide; I don’t personally have experience with it, but you can examine the website and socials before you request free pizza. You do have to agree to some very reasonable guidelines (for example, promising you won’t advocate for a particular candidate when passing out free pizza) when you submit your report of a long line.

Dave & Busters  visitors can enjoy 1/2-priced games all day, $5 beers, and $5 late-night bites.

Fazoli’s: If you dine in, you can get $2 off a signature bake menu item, including baked chicken parmigiana, loaded baked spaghetti, and spicy baked ziti with Italian sausage. This offer is valid at the participating location only.

Red Lobster is offering two deals for Election Day 2024:

  • An “Eat Your Feelings” deal starring 12 free Cheddar Bay Biscuits, plus 10% off your next order, when you sign up for My Red Lobster Rewards and place a to-go order of at least $15.
  • And a Crab Your Way special for $20 on election day, November 5. The special comes with a full pound of either simply steamed or roasted garlic butter snow crab legs, crispy potatoes, and your choice of a side.

Uber Eats is giving a 25% discount on all election night Eats order of $25 or more. They will also be giving a discount on rides to the polls but they didn’t say how much of a discount.

Hertz wants to help ‘drive the vote’ this Election Day 2024 with an extra free rental day when you get a two+ day rental.

Lyft offers 50% on rides to help get voters to the polls. Use promo code VOTE24.

I’ll update this post as more election-day freebie results come in.

  1. Seeing this posted today (11/7/2016) is a little late to let people know to save their “I Voted” sticker if they voted early. Also, if one votes by mail you don’t get a sticker so very difficult to take advantage of these deals.

    1. Hi Carol! I published this on November 3 (which is also when I shared it to my Facebook page and sent it out in my email newsletter). That’s why I included the line about saving your “I voted early” sticker if you have one. I’m not sure why you think it was published on November 7.

As for the deals themselves being available to folks who vote by mail, I can’t help with that. All of the offers/deals/discounts are provided by the various companies or organizations. If you’d like to take advantage of a particular deal and you voted by mail, I guess you could ask them how they’re handling that. Maybe they will still let you get the deal.
