Derby’s Third Thursday Free Event: Music, Art, Food Trucks

Have you heard about Derby’s Third Thursday? It’s a fantastic FREE event with live music, artist exhibits, adult beverages, food trucks, and more!

Third Thursday in Derby, Kansas, happens in the Spring and Fall. Hop in your car, take Rock Road and head South, and you will run right into Derby. Derby is only about 10 miles South depending on where you are in Wichita. If you have never been to Derby, it’s a great suburb with Rock River Rapids and Field Station Dinosaurs Park

Third Thursdays in Derby KS

July 16: Derby Market only (Madison Avenue, Central Park)
August 20: Third Thursday with live music, food trucks, and artists
September 17: Third Thursday featuring the DRC Sing-Off Finals
October 15: Howl-O-Ween at Decarsky Park (1600 Line Dr.), featuring a Dog Costume Contest

    • This is a FREE community event to celebrate the arts. Enjoy art exhibits, live music, food trucks, and more from 5 pm – 8 pm.
    • The locations vary, so visit the Derby Website for this month’s locations.
      • Madison Avenue Central Park at 512 E Madison Ave., Derby, KS
        • Is in the heart of town and has a splash pad, playground, open play space, and more.  
      • Warren River Park at 321 W Market St., Derby, KS
        • This park is along the Arkansas River and has canoes, kayaks, fishing, trails, a beautiful pavilion, and more right on the water. 
      • Hubbard Arts Center at 309 N. Woodland Blvd. Derby, KS
        • It is an art facility that offers classes, workshops, performances, dance, music, and anything related to the arts.  
      • Decarsky Park at 1600 Line Drive, Derby, KS
        • This is a ballpark and a dog park 
      • Derby Public Library at 1600 Walnut Grove, Derby, KS
    • Come Hungry because they always have a great lineup of food trucks. Here are some that have participated in the past:
