Old Cowtown Museum is kicking off a historic season to celebrate its anniversary, and it’s a deal worth marking on the calendar. This special event invites guests to step back into the 1870s with immersive historical reenactments, hands-on activities, and family-friendly entertainment that brings the Old West to life.
This year is extra special because it’s the Nation’s 250th birthday! Old Cowtown Museum will kick off the season in a special way this year to celebrate the nation’s anniversary. The event will feature historical reenactments, hands-on activities, and family-friendly entertainment set in the 1870s. Guests will receive a list of 250 things to do at Cowtown in commemoration of the United States’ 250th anniversary. Visitors are encouraged to see how many items they can cross off the list while visiting the museum during the Season Launch.

In honor of the museum’s founding in 1950, the day also features nostalgic 1950s-themed fun, including popular music from the era, classic children’s games, and a lively trivia contest.
Food vendors will be on site serving up local favorites, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the museum’s historic church—the very first building preserved and relocated to Old Cowtown—adds to the day’s significance.
