Wichita on the Cheap

Live the Good Life for Less & Never Miss a Deal

Aviation Flight Adventure Park at Exploration Place

The Textron Aviation Flight Adventure Park at Exploration Place will open in Fall 2025. This playground will focus on aviation as the theme of this playscape in downtown Wichita. This outdoor park is one of a kind and designed for families to explore together, celebrating Wichita’s rich aviation heritage. This playscape will have 10 playgrounds in one.

The destination playground will be on 6.5 acres outside of Exploration Place, and they are also building an Outdoor Amphitheater on the other side of the building.

“This expansion is an extraordinary investment in Wichita and the state of Kansas,” said Adam Smith, President and CEO, Exploration Place. “Textron Aviation’s support will help inspire a deeper interest in science and technology with this signature play area that will serve as a living tribute to Wichita as the Air Capital of the World.”

About Textron Aviation Flight Adventure Park:

  • The playground will be anchored by a towering climbing structure themed around the majestic Beechcraft Staggerwing.  Guests of all ages can climb into the dramatically positioned biplane and exit down an exhilarating tube slide.
  • At ground level is an explorable Cessna Citation business jet that includes a live radio connection from its cockpit to the nearby air traffic control tower.
  • Situated at the highest viewpoint on the Exploration Place site, a large climbable rocket sits not just as an exciting play structure but as a monument to ambition and dreams, encouraging visitors to aim high, a nod to Kansas’ motto, “Ad Astra Per Aspera.”
  • Accompanying areas include a suspension bridge, viewing platforms, themed slides, swings, and carousels. The whole playground is being designed to be accessible to guests of all ages and abilities.

The Textron Aviation Flight Adventure is part of Exploration Place’s destination playscape expansion and includes an awe-inspiring combination of 10 meticulously designed and landscaped individual playgrounds.
