There are several great apple and peach orchards within short driving distance from Wichita, Kansas. And don’t forget, mid-summer is also peach season in Kansas! Many of our local orchards grow both peaches and apples, making them a go-to destination from July through the fall. You might also want to check out one of the many Pumpin Patches or Fall Festivals around this season.

Meadowlark Farm is a pick-your-own peach and apple orchard just east of Wichita in Rose Hill, Kansas. Their apple orchard comprises over 2,000 trees of more than 20 apple varieties. For an even more budget-friendly outing, Steffen Apple Orchard in Conway Springs is one of the most inexpensive pick-your-own farms in the area. Families love the chance to enjoy a short drive out of Wichita and then wander the orchard for a few varieties of peaches and several apple varieties.
Apples are priced at $2.40 per pound, and the orchard supplies the box you just do the picking! Payment is simple, as they only accept cash or check. Hours are Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Before you head out, call 620-456-2706 with questions or to check what’s in season and available for picking.
