Bring your family and some lawn chairs to enjoy the annual Pumpkin Drop at Stearman Field in Benton, KS on October 24, 2020.
It’s a fun, family-friendly Halloween event!
The fun begins at 2 p.m. You get to watch airplanes as they fly in and drop pumpkins on the target below.
Kids can wear their costumes for this event and even participate in a costume contest in the afternoon.
The costume contest will be at about 3:30 p.m. during the pumpkin drop. (The pumpkin drop usually lasts a couple of hours, depending on how many pilots sign up to participate.)
Later in the evening, live music will be provided by Remedy from 7-11 p.m.
There’s no admission fee for this event; just plan some spending money for food, beverages, and face painting.
Stearman Field Bar and Grill usually serves from a limited menu on the days they have fly-ins. (No coolers allowed.)
Since this is an outdoor event and very weather-dependent, be sure to keep an eye on the Stearman Field Bar & Grill Facebook page for information and announcements.

This is so awesome. I never heard about it before and I’m so glad it’s free. Thanks for sharing, WOTC.
Yes! There’s a restaurant on site, so you could get a bite to eat but there’s no admission charge. Have fun, Bonnie!
