Twilight Tales at Musuem of World Treasures this October

Ever wondered what the Museum of World Treasures is like after dark? This October, visitors can grab a flashlight and discover the past during Twilight Tales, an after-hours experience where history comes alive with a bit more mystery.

Guests will explore dimly lit galleries guided by lantern light as museum docents share eerie stories and hidden bits of history. It’s the perfect mix of spooky and educational, offering a fun way to celebrate the Halloween Season without breaking the bank. This event is listed in our Halloween Events for Adults and All Ages, but if you are into spooky, check out our Halloween Displays and Haunted Houses & Haunted Places.

The 45-minute tours are offered every Friday and Saturday in October (except October 24), with both family-friendly and adults-only options. Younger explorers can enjoy early evening tours, while later time slots are reserved for guests 18 and older seeking a slightly spookier experience.

Arrive early to grab a snack and settle in before your tour begins—doors open at 6 PM, and parking in Old Town can take a few minutes.

What to Expect:

  • Docent-led tours through darkened galleries
  • About 45 minutes of spooky stories and little-known history
  • Family-friendly tours early in the evening
  • 18+ only tours later at night

  • Tour times:
    • 6:30 PM – All ages
    • 7:00 PM – All ages

Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the front desk, so plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early to secure your spot. While you wait, enjoy light refreshments and the anticipation of what’s to come.

This unique Wichita experience lets visitors see the museum in a whole new light—or rather, by flashlight.
