While the Wichita Veterans Day parade is on the weekend, the annual ceremony at Wichita Veterans Memorial Park to celebrate and honor U.S. military veterans veterans is happening on Veterans Day itself.
Veterans Memorial Park of Wichita will conduct its annual Veterans Day Program at the Park this Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11 a.m.
The program will include the flag lined walkway, a guest speaker, presentation of colors by McConnell AFB Color Guard, playing of the National Anthem and Taps, a Rifle Salute and the recognition of all Veterans present and their Branch of Service.
On Tuesday, November 11th at 11:00 am at the Flag Pavilion of Wichita’s Veterans Memorial Park, a ceremony will be held to honor all United States Military Veterans.
The event will begin with the National Anthem, followed by the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, invocation and brief opening remarks. The Master of Ceremonies will then introduce the guest speaker: US Army Veteran Timothy Yde.
Following the speaker’s remarks, a bugler will play Amazing Grace. A three-volley rifle salute will be fired, followed by the sounding of Taps to conclude the event.
This tribute is open to the public. The program is usually expected to last 30 to 45 minutes. You will want to bring a lawn chair if anyone in your party has trouble standing for long periods of time, as these events usually have limited or no seating provided.
Wichita Veterans Memorial Park is located on the river and there is a small parking lot nearby. Additional parking is usually available right along 2nd Street during events like these.
It will be a great opportunity to honor the veterans in our lives. For more information about this Veterans Day event, visit www.WichitaVeteransMemorialPark.com .
