Mark Arts Classes & Galleries in Wichita

Sharing is caring!

Mark Arts in East Wichita regularly features free art exhibitions that are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and they offer a wide variety of classes for youth and adults.

Visiting the museum is fun and free in Wichita, or consider picking up a new hobby by taking a class. Whether you’re interested in painting, sculpture, photography, or cooking, Mark Arts offers something for everyone to explore and enjoy.

I’ll admit I’m a little biased, I spent 10 years as the Education Director at Mark Arts before moving on to Botanica, the Wichita Gardens. During that time, I became a passionate supporter of the arts and developed a deep appreciation for the incredible programs that Mark Arts offers. In addition to overseeing education, I also taught many youth art classes and camps, so I’ve seen firsthand how meaningful these experiences can be.

Enrollment is now open for classes ranging from painting and pottery to photography and printmaking. There’s something to inspire children, teens, and adults at every skill level.

During the concert, guests can stroll through Mark Arts’ outdoor sculpture garden, and enjoy a special menu, the Xclusive mobile bar, and kids’ activities.

This five-day festival features an artistic fusion of food and friends benefiting Mark Arts. A variety of culinary and libation workshops will be held Tuesday through Thursday evenings featuring local culinary experts.

Mark Arts’ permanent collection is rotated in small exhibits throughout the year so you’ll always get to see something new. The collection’s strengths are American decorative arts, printmaking, and art of the Midwest. Special lectures and family day events are also held throughout the year.

The Mary R Koch Arts Center is one of the oldest visual arts organizations in the Wichita area. It was founded as the Wichita Art Association in 1920 to make art and arts education available to those living in our area.

The Mark Arts building, at the corner of Rock Road and E. 13th St. N in Wichita, was completed in December 2017. The facility includes a 5000 square-foot main gallery, other exhibition spaces, and nine studios for art instruction. The venue can be rented for special events.

Mark Arts also offers art classes and workshops for kids, teens, and adults.

Fun Fact: I served as the Education Director at Mark Arts for eight years and taught several classes.
