Sharing is caring!

If you’ve been, you know what a fun place it is. It’s a world-class local history museum with four floors of exhibits celebrating Wichita and Sedgwick County in Wichita’s original city hall. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, its mission is to advance the understanding and exploration of the rich historical and cultural heritage of Wichita and Sedgwick County.
Each time we visit we see something new. There’s the ornate victorian cottage, a 1916 Jones automobile, built by a Wichitan, that they had to bring up through the side of the building, an old-time drug store, the Blackbear Bosin display, a whole room that depicts Wichita’s history from the early settlers and Indian tribes all the way to the dawn of flight, and even more. The last time we visited, we found a working telephone booth with a rotary-dial phone that kids don’t know how to use. Bring a dime (or two nickels) when you go so you can watch them try it!
