Our family loves this deal — it saves us so much money! In fact, it was my husband who reminded me to check and see if Wayman would be doing the discount propane refills again this year.
And they are!
If you have a gas grill, you’ll probably need to refill your propane a couple of times at least each season. Thankfully, the Wayman Oil Company in Mulvane offers this really, really great deal on propane refills four times throughout the summer.

Bring in your 20 lb. gas grill propane tank during any of their summer sales (listed below) and you’ll pay only $6 per refill. I’m not kidding – it’s really that cheap!
Every time I write about these cheap propane refills, someone will ask “Is this real???” I know it’s almost unbelievable, but yes – it really is real, and my family has saved a lot of money by taking advantage of it. If you have an empty 20lb. propane cylinder, bring it to Wayman Oil during the times and dates they’re doing the promotion and you’ll get your tank filled for $6.
The next most popular question: “Is there a limit?” And the answer is no! Almost every time they announce their offer, they reiterate that there is no limit on how many $6 propane tank refills you can get, so fire up the gas grill and get your summer bbq cooking! 🙂
They generally do this $6 Propane Refill special four times during the grilling season. You’ll want to show up during regular business hours (usually between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. but double-check) on the sale dates which will always be a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday before the weekend.
Note that Wayman Oil is not open for grill tank refills on the weekends, so you do need to plan ahead.
In the case of Independence Day, which is not always on a weekend, the discount will usually be offered on the weekdays leading up to 4th of July.
“What if I can’t make it during the sale?” Well, if you’re in the Mulvane area, you’ll probably want to get your gas grill tank refilled at Wayman Oil even when they don’t have a sale going on. The regular price for a 20-lb refill is only $11, compared to other places where it can be as high as $20 per tank!
Here are the four times during the summer they usually have the cheap grill tank refill deal:
- in May, before Memorial Day weekend
- in July, before Independence Day
- in August, before Mulvane Old Settlers Day
- in September, on or before before Labor Day
Bring your tanks during their regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday before each of the holidays above and fill up on the cheap. They accept cash or credit cards.
