The Great Plains Nature Center welcomes the community to a FREE event called Moonlit Mania, where, for one night only, they will be open late. Grab your flashlight and join them for a night of exploration under the stars!
Explore the park by moonlight from 9pm-11pm, just as our favorite nocturnal creatures do! This FREE event is fun for the whole family to learn about nature’s night life including moths, bats, owls, and more. Enjoy naturalist-led hikes, nature stations, moth broth, and a few surprise guests.
Chisholm Trail is open dawn to dusk- But… They are breaking the rules for this special event!
Their naturalists are excited to lead you through the paved trails in search of nature’s nocturnal stars including our favorite- Moths! This event is open to all ages. They will feature “Moth Broth” along with lighted screens, naturalists, games, glowing trails, and more!
“This event serves as a unique opportunity to experience nature and the trails in a whole new way!” says Darah Jewell, Volunteer and Event Coordinator for the Great Plains Nature Center. “We’ll get to catch a glimpse of some nighttime life we wouldn’t normally get to see up close.”
