The Wichita Art Museum turns a year older this year and it will celebrating its birthday again on July 10, 2021! WAM’s Summer Birthday Bash is back on and will be held outside, so pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chair, and enjoy the festivities.
Some may remember this event for the free ice cream, some may remember it for the art, either way you’ll still have both. Get free admission and free ice cream sandwiches handed out with a smile while they last by the Wichita Wagonmasters at the Wichita Art Museum Summer Birthday Bash on July 10, 2021.
This year, the birthday bash will feature steel drum entertainment from Pan ICT Steel Band in the amphitheater, lawn games, chalk art, and a cool community art project. They’ll provide the supplies – and the heat – to your piece of the project, which will eventually simulate molten glass. Then, when everything’s cooled, your piece of the project will be added to a temporary Art Garden installation to be on display until this time next year. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your work on display at a museum! 🙂
In addition to the music and art-making activities, and you can spend an hour or two strolling through the Art Garden and purchase lunch from food trucks parked around the museum.
The Wagonmasters will be handing out wrapped ice cream sandwiches, as supplies last!
Wichita Art Museum’s Summer Birthday Bash activities will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Hopefully it will be cooler in the morning!
