Live the Good Life for Less & Never Miss a Deal

Wheeling Wild at the Zoo (leisurely bicycle rides)

Sharing is caring!

Are you looking for a fun and safe place for your family to ride their bikes? How about the Sedgwick County Zoo? Their Wheeling Wild bike club events are an affordable and family-friendly option.

Wheeling Wild (formerly known as Wheeling Wild Wednesdays) is designed to be a leisurely bike ride for all ages. Every third Tuesday through October, a guide leads the ride around the zoo. Look for a registration link below.

Small children are welcome as long as they’re either riding a bike, in a bike seat, or in an attached wagon. Children must be accompanied by an adult, of course.

Wheeling Wild Info from the Sedgwick County Zoo Website

“Join us for a bike club designed for leisurely riders. It doesn’t matter if you are young or young at heart, come out and get some air! All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone must ride a bicycle; small children may ride in a bike seat or an attached wagon. Rides take place on the third Tuesday each month 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. All rides begin and conclude at Zoo admissions. Class registration closes at 4 p.m. on the day of class. All rides will be held rain or shine.

Upcoming Wheeling Wild Dates for 2020:
Tuesday, June 16
Tuesday, July 21
Tuesday, Aug 18
Tuesday, Sept 15
Tuesday, Oct 20

Each person who attends class must have a ticket. A ticket is required for all people over the age of six months. Space is limited. Tickets will be scanned at the door. All classes take place rain or shine. All reservations are final. No cancellations, refunds, rain checks or exchanges; tickets will not be replaced if lost, stolen or unused.”

It’s great to find cycling events that families can join. And it’s very affordable! To do the one-time option is only $5 per person ($4 for zoo members).

The hour-long rides begin at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. You can join the club any time, even if you’ve missed some rides. You can get more information and register online at the zoo website. (Click that link and look for the red registration button.)
