This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, earn volunteer hours, and help keep one of Wichita’s beautiful parks looking its best. Plus, volunteers get a FREE lunch!
Help Get Chisholm Creek Park Ready for Winter
Volunteers will work together on several projects to prepare Chisholm Creek Park for the colder months.
Here’s what you’ll help with:
- Removing debris throughout the park
- Tackling invasive plants
- Clearing debris from the creek
- Helping maintain and protect the park’s natural areas
- Meeting other Wichita volunteers while making a difference
You don’t need to spend money to participate, just bring a willingness to help!
What to Bring to Great Plains Nature Center’s Fall Work Day
Since you’ll be working outdoors, dress for the weather and wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Warm, comfortable work clothes
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Work gloves, if you have them
- A reusable water bottle
Volunteers will meet on the front lawn of Great Plains Nature Center before heading out to work on projects.
