It’s officially named the “Kansas Wildlife Exhibit” but fondly known by Wichitans as the Riverside Park Zoo.
The Kansas Wildlife Exhibit features over 25 species in 8 naturalistic cages. Animals include beavers, red fox, porcupine, mink, hawks, owls and more.
The exhibit is located in the central part of Riverside Park. The park’s address is 720 Nims, and the actual exhibit is at 600-620 Nims. The map below should help you find it.
The Kansas Wildlife Exhibit is open daily during daylight hours and is FREE to enjoy.
Haven’t visited the Riverside zoo in years. My niece came to town so we looked for a place we could go that didn’t take a lot of money. To my delight. I found the zoo wonderful. The animals were fun to watch and very well take. Care of. I remembered reading about the beaver who had gotten out a few years ago and finally got to meet him. I commend Wichita for the bobcat exhibit. We watched the two babies play together for over an hour. It was wonderful. I believe we are so lucky th have such a wonderful pair of bobcats here in the middle of the city. I’m taking my grandchildren next week. I’ve told several of my friends how impressed I am. Thank you!
I’m also grateful for the city making this available!
