Take a walk with the mayor and get some exercise while you share ideas about Wichita!
Our mayor, Jeff Longwell, is promoting exercise and a healthy lifestyle through an initiative called “Walk-A-Longwell.”
The one-hour monthly walk is not only a way for Mayor Longwell to encourage health and fitness in our community, it’s also a way for residents to meet the Mayor and share their ideas about what should be happening in Wichita.
Meet the Mayor in front of the Wichita City Hall for these monthly walks. Here’s the schedule for now:
Monthly Walk-A-Longwell Schedule
Note: These walks may be weather-dependent, and might need to be rescheduled or canceled from time to time for various other reasons. Be sure to double-check each Walk A Longwell event before you head out.

Saturday, February 23, 11 a.m. to noon
Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m. to noon

Saturday, May 25, 11 a.m. to noon (I think this has been cancelled! To celebrate Bike Month, Walk-a-Longwell will change to Bike-a-Longwell for on May 25th. Bring your bike or check one out at the Bike Share station in front of City Hall.)

Likely the best place to keep up with any changes to the schedule of the Mayor’s monthly walk would be his event page on Facebook. You can also find Mayor Jeff Longwell on Twitter.
The Mayor started these monthly walks in 2017.
