Doing a little spring cleaning? This will help.
Sedgwick County is offering a coupon for free trash disposal of bulky items up to $30 or 1,000 pounds. (Loads exceeding this limit are accepted, but will be subject to fees.)
You can request the coupon beginning May 14, 2012, either online at sedgwickcounty.org or by calling 660-9110. You’ll need to give them your name and address, and the coupons should be mailed to you within one week of your request. The coupons must be used before October 31, 2012.
Bulky waste includes furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics and other items that haulers aren’t able to pick up, but NOT tires, items with Freon or hazardous materials. Before you toss it, check to see if it can be recycled using the recycling guide at www.sedgwickcounty.org.
Only residents of Sedgwick County are eligible for the coupons and must be prepared to haul the trash. Businesses are not eligible.
The following locations will accept the coupons:
Waste Connections Transfer Station, 4300 W. 37th St. N., 941-4320
Waste Disposal LLC Transfer Station, 5550 W. 55th St. S., 522-3633

The link probably won’t be on their site until the date the coupon is available … May 14.
I was just at the site and if you scroll down you will see the link. I filled mine out and they said I should receive my coupon in a week to 10 days.
