If you’re planning to watch March Madness this year, the good news is the games are spread across several major networks, and there are a few ways to watch them for Free!

Here’s how to watch the 2026 NCAA Men’s March Madness Tournament on TV and online.

TV Channels Broadcasting March Madness

The NCAA tournament is broadcast across four main networks:

• CBS
• TBS
• TNT
• truTV

Most of the early-round games rotate between these four channels, while CBS usually airs the Final Four and the National Championship.

How to Stream March Madness Online

If you prefer streaming, there are several options:

• NCAA March Madness Live App
You can stream many of the games through the official March Madness app or website. Some games may require a TV provider login.

• Streaming Services
These live-TV streaming services typically carry all the channels needed to watch the tournament:

– YouTube TV
– Hulu + Live TV
– Sling TV
– DirecTV Stream

Many of these services offer free trial periods, which can be a way to watch part of the tournament without paying.

There are a few ways fans often watch the games without paying for cable:

• Watch CBS games with an antenna
Because CBS is a broadcast channel, you can often watch those games for free with a digital antenna.

• Use free streaming trials
Services like YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV sometimes offer free trial periods that can cover part of the tournament.

• Watch at local Sports Bars or restaurants
Many sports bars show all the tournament games. It can be a fun way to watch the action with other fans.

March Madness runs for nearly three weeks, so there are plenty of opportunities to catch the action, whether you’re watching at home, streaming on your phone, or heading out to a local sports bar.

Hosting March Madness Tips

Here are some easy ways to help you save when hosting a watch party. I am all about fun, easy, and on a budget!

• Wichita State Shockers men’s basketball made one of the most famous Cinderella runs in March Madness history when they reached the Final Four in 2013. Go Shoxs!

• The tournament started with only 8 teams. The first NCAA basketball tournament in 1939 had just eight teams competing. Today, the bracket has grown to 68 teams battling for the national championship.

• The term “March Madness” didn’t start with college basketball. The phrase was first used in 1939 by an Illinois high school official describing the excitement of the state basketball tournament.

• A perfect bracket is basically impossible. The odds of filling out a completely perfect bracket are estimated at 1 in 9.2 quintillion. Even the best basketball analysts rarely get close.

• The lowest seed to ever win the championship was an 8 seed. Villanova Wildcats men’s basketball won the title in 1985 as an 8-seed, shocking the college basketball world.

Wichita isn’t hosting this year, but I hope we will be soon!
