Kansas History at the Wichita Public Library

Enjoy a unique learning experience at the Westlink branch of the Wichita Public Library this Kansas Day weekend. Nolan Sump will portray Kansas 4th governor, Nehemiah Green.

Here are the event details from the library’s website:

Step back into the past with Nolan Sump as he portrays Nehemiah Green, the fourth governor of Kansas. Hear stories of how Green came to Kansas Territory, served in the Civil War, became the governor of Kansas, and more.

Growing up in the community of Green, Kansas, Nolan Sump attended the Green United Methodist Church, ringing the bell that Governor Green gave to the first city that would name itself in his honor. As a token of esteem and wishing to honor a notable Kansan, Nolan decided to portray the governor through this historical performance.

The event will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Westlink branch of the library. Admission is free and open to the public.
