Carriage Factory Art Gallery in Newton will be holding two Kansas-themed events this month.
Kansas’ birthday is on January 29, and we celebrate Kansas Day on or around that day every year.
Leading up to that day, Carriage Factory Art Gallery in Newton will have a FREE opening exhibit of Kansas Through the Eyes of an Artist.
This Kansas-themed art exhibit is a juried show featuring 32 artists, with work in a variety of media including pastels, oils, watercolors, acrylics, photography, and mixed media. The opening will be held on Saturday evening, January 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The works featured will also be available for purchase.
Then, on Kansas birthday itself, Tuesday, January 29, Carriage Factory will host A Kansas Day Trip, a visual photographic journey around Kansas by photographer Jeff Heidel. You’ll “visit” Teter Rock, the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills, the Smoky Hills, and more. This event is also free and will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Admission to this Kansas Day presentation is FREE.
