The NSA is a not-for-profit, open membership sailing organization.  Founded in 1965, the NSA has grown into one of the largest, and best equipped sailing centers in this part of the world. Its home, Cheney Lake (just a short drive west of Wichita), has also been rated one of the top ten sailing lakes in the USA – having hosted numerous national championship sailing regattas, Olympic Games and Pan Am Games trials, and attracting some of the world’s top amateur athletes.

Don’t know how to sail?  We’ve been teaching adults and kids to sail for nearly 40 years.  Our “Adult Learn to Sail” classes were developed with the U.S. Sailing Association, and are offered every summer.  If you’d like a little friendly competition, the NSA hosts after-work racing every Wednesday evening from late April to October.  All sailboats and crew are welcome to participate – novice and seasoned veterans alike.  We also have a very active junior sailing program, where your kids can learn to sail, or hone their skills, at our week-long sailing camps offered throughout the summer.  And, our junior sailors have the opportunity to participate in local and regional junior regattas.

As a member of the NSA crew, you will join over 180 member families enjoying the outdoors and making friends.  With many social events, you’ll find plenty to do – our year-round activities include parties with live bands, catered dinners and dances, on-the-water festivities and fireworks.  The NSA is for everyone. Take drive to Cheney Lake, and check out the NSA.  You’ll soon be coming back.
