Cancelled because of rain Wichita Recreation Facebook announcement
The City of Wichita Park & Recreation has teamed up with Wichita Riding Academy and Eagle View Equestrian Center for a fun horseback riding event in Pawnee Prairie Park.
You can register for an introductory horseback riding lesson followed by a 45-minute trail ride for only $20. Spaces are extremely limited and it looks like there is already a waiting list. The class plus trail ride is available for kids ages 6+
However, they’ll also have free pony rides and other horse-related demos and activities like roping, rodeo games, and arts & crafts. Food trucks will be on site if you want to buy lunch.
The Saddle Up & Ride event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017. You can find out more about this event on Facebook.
I just tried to register my granddaughter and both sessions are full. Then I noticed there’s only eight in the class , geez!
Yes, I hope they see how much interest there is in this kind of event and do it again! The description of the event says that there will be other activities, like pony rides. My guess is that they’ll have a LOT of people!
(p.s. My daughter has taken riding lessons at C-Arrow, and it’s an affordable option if that helps!)
