Sharing is caring!
This is not specifically a Veteran’s Day deal, since this is an ongoing program, but I thought this would be an appropriate time to post it. The Honor Flight Network offers free flights for veterans to see their respective memorials in Washington, D.C., giving preference to WWII veterans and to those veterans who are terminally ill.
The program operates solely on donations from individuals or businesses. Legacy Auto Group in Garden City says it will donate $1 for every person who “Likes” its Facebook page until November 11 (that’s Thursday), so if you have a minute, please lets flood this page with Likes: Legacy Auto Group on Facebook today. (It will also donate $100 for every Facebook fan who buys one of its cars.)
Honor Flight Network also has a page on Facebook.
Note: The Honor Flight Network at HonorFlight.org makes the point on its home page that it is not associated with other sites ending in .com that charge veterans for flights.
If you know of any other corporate sponsors with a promotion similar to the Legacy Auto Group, please let me know and I’ll try to get the word out. In fact, if you donate to this organization, let me know and I will list your name here. (I will not list the donation amount.)
KFDI is advertised on the Central Plains Honor Flight website as a sponsor.

aren’t all WWII vets of the age to be considered seniors?
Oh, you’re right Cindy. I should make that clearer. The Honor Flight Network wants to provide flights for other veterans (Korea, Vietnam) to see their memorials too, but their priority is to get WWII veterans to the memorial in D.C.
