Friends University Fine Arts performances

Friends University is jumping into a busy post-spring break schedule with upcoming performances listed below:

University Community Orchestra 

March 29, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.
Sebits Auditorium

The Friends University Community Orchestra concert will feature performances by Jordan Roth and Hannah Howard, the winners of Friends University’s 2021 Miller Competition. Also included will be the winner of the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association competition, Hannah Schwemmer. 

Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for seniors and students.

Student-Directed One-Act Plays

April 1-2, 2022
Studio Theater (D6)

Friends University Theatre majors will each present their own one-act plays to be performed together in a free showcase. A variety of shows will be presented from serious and dramatic to light and comical. Student directors are tasked to help actors build character, work with plot development, create staging, decide technical needs and more.

Student Directed One-Act Plays will take place in the Studio Theater (D6) inside Friends University’s Riney Fine Arts Center, located at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.

Tickets are free but must be reserved online at friends.edu/fineartstickets or by calling the Fine Arts Box Office at 316-295-5677.

Concert Choir

The Friends University Concert Choir will present its spring program, Rise! Shine! A reflection of what the world has been through the last few years, the concert will journey through the anguish of loss and despair and the gift of hope and peace. Concert Choir is especially excited to collaborate with the Friendship Fields class on two pieces. Friendship Fields is a Friends University program for college-age adults with disabilities to experience college life.
