This Saturday the Wichita Art Museum is celebrating the opening of its fall exhibit, Shiny, Sticky, Smooth: Pop Art and the Senses, and the first anniversary of the art garden. Activities for all ages are planned throughout the day and admission is FREE.
From 3-5 p.m. enjoy a Family Artventure with extra special activities, including entertainment from Kansas City juggling duo Laughing Matters. Then a hip indoor/outdoor fall party begins at 5 p.m. with food trucks and a Warhol-inspired photo booth and a first peek at one of the West Coast’s best private collections of pop art.
Finally, a live stage show will top off the day at 7 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets (weather permitting) for music from the band KC Flo and a Planet Hair extravaganza showcasing pop-art inspired hair styles in the Downing amphitheater.
