Friday, Aug. 10 is National S’mores Day, and Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is inviting all K-12 girls and their families to come enjoy hot dogs, fun activities, and of course, the yummy goodness of a melty, chocolatey, graham-cracker s’more!
This event is FREE to the public. Families are invited to come and learn more about Girl Scouts and its mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character.
Don’t live in Wichita? Kansas Girl Scouts are holding FREE S’mores Day events in other towns around the state too:
- Hays
- Salina
- Garden City
- Emporia
Fun fact: The first-known recorded S’more recipe was the “Some More” recipe published in the 1927 Girl Scouts of the USA handbook, “Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.”
This FREE National S’mores Day event will be held on Friday, August 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland Headquarters, 360 Lexington Rd. in Wichita (just north of Kellogg & Edgemoor).
Of course if you’re interested, you can register for Girl Scouts at the event or ask questions about it, but you do not need to be a Girl Scout to participate.
