I almost missed this one, but there’s still time to catch these beautiful horses in action. The Wheat State Morgan Horse show is being held in Pavillion 1 at the Kansas Coliseum from Saturday, July 10 to Tuesday, July 13, 2010. This is also the 40th anniversary of the show.
It looks like the competition will include categories in Dressage, Carriage Driving, Pleasure Driving, Pleasure Saddle, and others. Admission is free .
As a formerly horse-crazy kid, I would have loved to go to a show like this. It’s a fun (and free) way to spend a few hours together as a family. You may end up spending the next 8 years fielding requests to please, please, please get a horse, but you can do what my parent did and blame it on Santa.
Or you could always, you know, get a horse.
