Around the holidays and back to school time, some local organizations offer special discounts, perks, or bonuses for folks who bring items for a donation drive. These might include toy drives, food drives, school supplies drives, school supply drives or other types of charitable giving.
Not only are they an awesome way to give to others, they can provide neat opportunities for your family to get out and do something fun at a more affordable price. Charitable donations are sometimes requested in lieu of admission or for an admission discount.
(Find awesome brand new toys, games, and sports stuff at the Awesome Toy Sale in Wichita December 14 & 15.)
Be sure to read each entry and visit the links to more information so that you have all the details before you arrive.
Also, some drives ask for specific items, while others are broader in scope. Almost always, the requested items should be new, in the original packaging, and undamaged. Usually they need to be unwrapped.
If you have questions about any donation drive, contact the organizers.
