The Greater Wichita YMCA offers free Cooking Matters classes for parents or caregivers, and you don’t have to be a YMCA member to participate!
In the Cooking Matters class for parents or caregivers, you’ll enjoy a hands-on experience that covers meal planning, budgeting, and smart grocery shopping to help you prepare healthy, affordable meals. A guided grocery store tour with a $10 gift card, one week. They will help you learn how to stretch your food budget while making nutritious choices for your family. Plus, every participant receives a free take-home groceries to put their new skills into practice! Best of all, free child care is available during the class, so you can focus on learning without worry. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain kitchen confidence, save money, and prepare healthy meals your whole family will love!

Cooking Class: Cooking Matters helps families learn to shop for and cook healthy meals on a budget. Includes hands-on cooking and free groceries to try one of the recipes at home each week.
Who Can Join: Parents or caregivers of younger kids – do NOT have to be a YMCA member to participate

- Wednesday, February 25 – March 18
- 6 pm – 7:30 pm
- Downtown YMCA
- Wednesday, March 4 – April 1 (No class March 18)
- 10 am – 11:30 am
- South YMCA
- Thursdays, March 12 – April 9 (No class March 19) This Class is in Spanish
- 11 am – 12:30 pm
- Downtown YMCA
