Botanica’s Illuminations is an annual tradition in Wichita, which fills the night sky with holiday lights (up to two million of them!) and Christmas music. In addition to the amazing displays, show, and carousel rides, Illuminations will have live carolers each night, hot coco and treats, and the opportunity to visit Santa.
Illuminations Dates: November 29, 2024 – January 4, 2025
The entire community is invited to Illuminations to tour the gardens and enjoy the holiday-themed activities and atmosphere.
Illuminations Dates & Prices:
- Botanica is set to enchant visitors every night from November 29th to January 4th.
- The event features hourly time slots at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.
- Admission to Illuminations is:
- $16 for non-member adults,
- $13 for member adults, military, and seniors
- $10 for ages 3-12
- Free for children 2 and under.
- All tickets must be pre-purchased online, as walk-in tickets will not be available or accepted.
Attendees can revel in the holiday spirit under the glow of Botanica’s 62-foot MEGA Christmas tree, adorned with festive images and synchronized to holiday music—a spectacle that ranks among the largest branched tree displays in the Midwest. Over 2 million lights are creatively integrated into all-new magical displays, including a Candyland walk-through with a lit storybook gingerbread house and glowing candies. This family-friendly event caters to all ages.
Dawn Hewitt, Executive Director, expressed excitement about ushering in the holiday season with Illuminations, emphasizing its significance as Botanica’s largest fundraiser, supporting the gardens year-round. Attendees can enjoy a ride on the Khicha Family Carousel for $3 and visit Santa with their child’s wish list. Hot cocoa, snacks, and beverages are available for purchase at Botanica’s concession stand, with adult drinks offered by Bar on Demand.

New this year, Botanica’s First Annual Tree Lighting will include activities, refreshments, a printed picture with Santa, and more! This special tree-lighting event will be held Friday, November 17 at 6 p.m. The cost is $35 per adult and $16 per kid age 3-12.

I believe the Value Mart on Douglas is out of business. When I was by last week, the name was off the building and all the windows were “papered”.
