Mark your calendars for a small-town festival that will be just the cure for spring fever. The 33rd annual Tulip Festival will be held in Belle Plaine Kansas April 13-15, 2018.
This spring weekend event attracts thousands of visitors to Belle Plaine every year to enjoy activities, live entertainment, events, and lots of blooming tulips in town and at the Bartlett Arboretum.
Admission is a $3 Tulip Festival button, which you can find during the event at tram stops and the Chamber booth downtown at the community center. The button is your ticket to ride the tram and is required for several activities.
Activities begin Friday night, followed by the official opening of the festival on Saturday morning. Then the Tulip Time parade begins at noon, followed by a full afternoon and evening of entertainment and fun, including a talent show, carnival, car show, vendor fair, vintage market, and a street dance.
Sunday begins with a pancake feed and the vendor’s fair, carnival, food court, and other activities continue until 4 p.m. Check out the full schedule at the Facebook page or the Belle Plaine Chamber website.
During the Tulip Time Festival, the Bartlett Arboretum will be hosting the annual Art at the Arb. A festival button does not cover admission to this event, which has a suggested donation of $5 to $10 per person. Art at the Arb is a weekend-long celebration of springtime that features local artists, musicians, catering from local restaurants, and the arboretum’s about 30,000 tulips.
