Mark your calendars for a small-town festival that will be just the cure for spring fever. The Belle Plaine Downtown Festival (formerly known as the Tulip Festival) is ON for April 2022.
This spring weekend event attracts visitors to Belle Plaine every year to enjoy activities, live entertainment, a car & bike show, vendor fair, parade and more.
Activities generally begin on Friday night, followed by the official opening of the festival on Saturday morning.
Admission is a $3 festival button. The button is your ticket to the fun and required for several activities.
Belle Plaine Downtown Festival Events
The festival begins Friday night, April 8 at 5 p.m. and continues until Sunday, April 10 at 4 p.m. Here are some of the events happening around the festival!

Throughout the festival they’ll have various contests, activities, and fun things to do. There’s a Decorated Wheels contest, a photo contest, a Facial Hair Face-Off, Kids Fest, food courts, inflatables and obstacle courses.

During the Tulip Time Festival, the Bartlett Arboretum will be hosting the annual Art at the Arb. A Tulip Festival button does not cover admission to this event, which has a suggested donation of $10 per person (free for kids). Art at the Arb is a weekend-long celebration of springtime that features local artists, musicians, catering from local restaurants, and the arboretum’s about 30,000 tulips.
