The annual Gingerbread Village at Exploration Place is back! Gingerbread Village is one of Wichita’s favorite holiday traditions at Exploration Place on December 6 & 7, 2025
This event is one of the best DEALS for the Holiday Season. For the ticket price, you get so much! This event is perfect for families, offering activities for all ages, and is a great way to make holiday memories without breaking the bank.
Gingerbread Village at Exploration Place
- With admission, you will receive a gingerbread house kit for each person. The pre-cut graham cracker pieces make it easy to assemble your house using the included icing. The tables will be plentiful with an array of candy and toppings to strategize, engineer, craft and build the ultimate sweet escape.
- Your ticket includes museum admission to visit the exhibits before your Gingerbread Village time slot starts or after you’re done building. You’re welcome to stay and explore all day!
- Members who would like to visit the exhibits but do not want to participate in Gingerbread Village can stop at the ticketing counter to check-in.
- Gingerbread Village is exempt from any other discounts or programs.
- You will get to experience all that Exploration has to offer. They have hands-on science fun for the whole family. They have various permanent exhibits that you can enjoy like:
- You to rivet an airplane wing
- Chuck buffalo chips
- Marvel at a miniaturized 1950s Kansas
- Rule a medieval castle
- Get comfortable in a giant meadowlark nest and more!
- You will be able to get your tickets for a specific time slot, which really helps with the crowds and makes it a more enjoyable experience for everyone, but you can also get them at the door.
Admission: $12 Adults / $10 Seniors / $10 Children / $6 Members
This day is one that children will remember long after the last piece of candy has been plucked off the rooftops of their gingerbread creations.
Admission includes a gingerbread house kit and, as I mentioned above, all Exploration Place exhibits.
The Gingerbread Village is available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 6 & 7, 2025. This event is a holiday tradition for many Wichita families!

Hi! My daughter Emma just turned 5, and may want to partake in the activity. Who would I contact to get her eligible to attend? See, I was reading the prices and noticed that ages 3, 4, and 5 were excluded from the list of ages. Since that would be DISCRIMINATION, I would like to know who I have to petition to get my daughter in. Thank you in advance for your help in resolving the issue at hand.
Hey, Emma’s Dad, you’re right! Sorry I didn’t notice the omission. I checked the “for more info” link and it says admission for children ages 3-11 is $6.
I’ll get that fixed ASAP. (Whew! So glad we didn’t have petition Gingerbread Village!)
