I personally love Meddys, and it has become one of our family’s go-to spots. The food is fresh, flavorful, and feels healthier than many quick-dining options around town. Their hummus, shawarmas, salads, and Mediterranean bowls are all made fresh to order, and the portions are generous for the price. We always have leftovers, so one meal usually turns into two meals.
I also really like Alex Harb, the founder of Meddys. His story is pretty incredible and very Wichita. After moving to the U.S. from Lebanon to attend Wichita State University, he worked his way through school while gaining restaurant experience before eventually following his passion for food. Meddys was built around family recipes inspired by his childhood in Lebanon, using fresh ingredients and Mediterranean flavors that quickly made the restaurant a local favorite.
What I love about Meddys is that it feels casual and affordable while still feeling special enough for something like Mother’s Day. It is one of those places we go back to again and again because the food is consistently good and the atmosphere is family-friendly. We go to the one on Greenwich because we love the Outdoor Patio, but most of its locations have a great outdoor dining option.
