El Dorado, KS, has a great list of 4th of July activities and fireworks. You can usually expect a bike parade, turtle races, a veterans ceremony, a free swim, and, of course, fireworks. These are just a few of the activities happening all day around El Dorado.
El Dorado is a great small town approximately 30 minutes northeast of Wichita. It is popular because of El Dorado Lake, a large reservoir where you can swim, boat, and camp.

- 9 am to noon Fourth of July events at East Park, including a bike parade, youth wiffle ball tournament, turtle races, family games, and lunch (at 11:30)
- 1-4 pm Free swim at the El Dorado Municipal Pool
- 5:30 pm Concert at McDonald Stadium featuring veteran Shannon Book
- 6 pm U.S. Wardogs Ceremony honoring veterans
- 7 pm – Walnuts Baseball Game at McDonald Stadium
- Fireworks following the baseball game
