The Kroger Family of Stores (which includes Dillons) is running a promotion beginning tomorrow, May 27, 2012 that doubles the amount of fuel points you can earn in one month.
When you use your Dillons card for eligible purchases at Dillons, $100 (before coupons) spent in one month equals 100 fuel points. 100 fuel points can be redeemed the following month for 10-cents on every gallon of gas (up to 35 gallons) you buy at Dillons Gas Centers or area Kwik Shops. (You must swipe your Dillons card at the gas center to receive the discount.) 200 fuel points nets you a 20-cent-per-gallon discount, and so on up to $1 off gas.
With this new promotion the maximum discount will double. You can save up to $2 off per gallon of gas. Most of us will not spend $2000 on groceries in a single month, but there are other ways to earn enough fuel points to maximize your discount:
- Buy Gift Cards. Most gift cards earn double points every day – for every purchase of $50 in gift cards from Kroger’s Gift Card Mall, customers receive 100 fuel points. Currently, Kroger is offering quadruple fuel points on most gift cards as part of our Dads and Grads savings event.
- Use the Kroger 1-2-3 Rewards Visa. You can earn an additional 5 cents off the cost of a gallon when you redeem points. New cardholders can save 25 cents a gallon during their first three months as cardholders when they redeem at least 100 fuel points.
- Every qualifying prescription earns customers 50 fuel points.
- Use coupons. Your fuel points are based on the amount you spend before coupons are deducted, so if your before-coupon total is $100, you’ll earn 100 fuel points even if you only paid $30.

CHEAP TIP: Even if you won’t be giving gift cards to dads or grads, you can purchase them and use them for things you would buy anyway, like dinners out, clothing, or books.
The $2 per gallon Fuel Points promotion will be in effect until September 30, 2012, so you can use it to save on summer travel.
