The capital folks at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka have made a New Year’s resolution that’s good for all of us. They’ve resolved to offer one weekend every month (for the whole year) at a phenomenal (we would call it cheap!) rate, and they’re starting this weekend.
Stay Friday or Saturday night, or both, for only $39.99 per night. That rate is good for up to four people in a room, so bring the kids along if you’d like.
According to it’s website, Capitol Plaza Hotel has earned the Best of Topeka distinction 6 years running. The rooms look nice, and the hotel gets good reviews at tripadvisor and travelocity. There’s an indoor pool and sauna, fitness center, free high speed Internet, restaurant and lounge, and business services if you really have to work.
It’s located within walking distance from the Kansas state capitol building and the Kansas Expocentre. (There’s a monster truck rally going on this weekend.) Of course you have about a zillion other choices of what to see and do in or near Topeka. Go visit the kids at college, stop by the Topeka Zoo, shop, take in some historical sites, or go lobby any elected officials working this weekend. 🙂
Again, at $39.99 a night, you don’t really need a reason to go. Just get away!
