Sharing is caring!
Bike/Walk Wichita is hosting a donation-based yoga class especially for cyclists on Labor Day! The class will be taught by 200-hour yoga instructor Madison Ham. Here’s a description of it.
[blockquote]The slouched posture and repetitive nature of riding can take its toll on the body. Yoga is an essential performance tool for cyclists to be able to gain and maintain flexibility, core strength, balance, breathing efficiency and mental focus. Cyclists may be less prone to overuse injuries with adding yoga to their cross-training. All levels of experience are welcome. A professional yoga teacher will lead the class. The registration fee will be paid to cover the instructor’s fee and the remainder (if any) will be used as a donation to the Bike Walk Wichita “ReCycle” program (refurbishing bikes to be donated to people who need a bike!)[/blockquote]
Do bring your own yoga mat and water bottle. You don’t need to pre-pay or pre-register for this class.
Yoga for Cyclists will be held Monday, September 5, 2016 at Sedgwick County Park (on the far west side of the park by the big hill) from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. There is no fee for the class, but donations are gladly accepted. Since this is an outdoor event, it would be a good idea to keep an eye on any weather-related changes or cancellations. If you have questions, you can call 316-530-2990 or email info@bikewalkwichita.org. Check out the Facebook event page for more info or changes.
