Wichita Fried Pies grand opening

Get yourself some fried pies, Wichita! The grand opening of the fried pie kiosk is this Saturday.

This new Wichita kiosk makes it even more convenient to get a taste of Park City’s Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies. It will be located at the corner of Tyler and 13th Street West. The address is 8520 W. 13th Street, Wichita, KS 67212 if you want to map it.

Pretty much the only thing that makes a pie better is frying it. These are also called “hand pies,” because you can eat them with your hands. They were first served to cowboys and ranchers in the 1800s in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma. Those are the kind of pies you’ll get at the new kiosk.

As far as we know, there aren’t any grand opening specials being offered, but the pies – which come in either sweet or savory – are only $4 to $4.75 each. This new kiosk or the Park City location would be a great inexpensive place to take a date on a Saturday afternoon and would be a special treat for the family anytime.

The sweet pies on their menu include classic apple, cherry, chocolate, coconut, peach and pecan. There are no sugar added apple and peach pies as well.

The savory options include breakfast pies with sausage or bacon, eggs, and cheese, or pizza, chicken pot pie, hot dog (what, lol?), meat pie, spinach pie, and Tex-Mex. Sounds good for an inexpensive lunch or dinner! Make it a combo for $6.75.

Grand opening date: August 25, 2018
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Cost: $4 to $5 for handheld pies; less than $7 for a combo
