On four days this month, March 27-30, 2013 Via Christi will offer low-cost blood screening open to anyone age 18 or over. The comprehensive blood screening includes testing for more than 40 blood levels including diabetes, cholesterol and thyroid disease. Men can add a PSA blood screening for $15.
Cost for the screening is $40, and registration in advance is required. To register, call Via Christi Health Connection at (316) 689-5700 or toll free at 1-866-689-5700. (Via Christi 50+ members and Via Christi employees or volunteers receive a discount.)
Medications may be taken as usual on screening day, but don’t eat anything or drink anything except water after midnight the night before your screening. You may drink water and take your medications as directed.
Screenings will be available assigned times from 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday,March 27-30, at the Via Chrisit Hospital on Harry St. (3600 E. Harry, 3rd floor).
Results can be picked up Friday, April 5 from 9:30-11 a.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m. To receive your results by mail (faster), bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the screening. Via Christi does not check or keep a copy of your results, so be sure to discuss your test results with your physician(s).
