The Mid-America All Indian Center will host its 2nd Annual Valentine’s Day benefit powwow on Saturday, February 12. Admission to this all-ages event is free, but donations will be accepted to fund future MAAAIC events.
Ceremonial dances begin at 1 p.m. Food vendors will be on hand from 5 to 6 p.m. for a supper break. The Grand Entry will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by intertribal dancers in authentic powwow regalia until about 10 p.m. There will also be some audience participation dances during this time.
Admission to the Indian Center Museum is only $1 during the event. Tickets to win baskets filled with toys, Indian-made arts and crafts, and Valentine’s Day-themed gifts will be available to purchase.
