Sharing is caring!
I just realized that I’ve never typed the word “powwow” before. Apparently, that really is how you spell it–no hyphens necessary. Anyway, this seems like a fun family event.
The Mid-America All Indian Center is hosting its first-ever benefit powwow on Saturday, February 13. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted that will go toward keeping future powwows free and open to the public.
Ceremonial dances begin are scheduled from 1 – 4 p.m., then the Grand Entry with Intertribal Dancers in authentic powwow regalia will be at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the Indian Center Museum is only $1 during the event.
Food vendors will be on hand between noon and 6 p.m. Tickets to win baskets filled with toys, Indian-made arts and crafts, and Valentine’s Day-themed gifts will be available to purchase.
