This weekend you can sample the savings at Sam’s without paying a membership fee. Friday, August 6, through Sunday, August 8, Sam’s Club is open to anyone to try.
Warehouse club memberships may not be for everyone, but let me dispel one myth: People often think that the savings at a warehouse membership mean that you have to buy huge quantities of an item all at once.
That isn’t quite the way it works at Sam’s. If I happen to be looking for a 6.5 lb can of nacho cheese sauce then sure, it’s there. But Sam’s has many items that come in smaller packaging, you just have to buy two or three of them at one time. My staple Sam’s purchases are heavy cream, half-n-half, paper plates, trash bags, bread, chips, and sometimes butter, eggs, and cheese. The fresh meat department is also one of our favorite stops, and Sam’s has some of the best-looking produce you can find. When you’re looking for prepared frozen food, like burritos or stir-fry, etc., Sam’s is the place to buy it. The deal in those departments is that the quality is higher for about the same price as elsewhere. (Yeah, I’m not always about the cheap stuff!)
But don’t take my word for it. You can see for yourself between Friday and Sunday whether or not you think you would benefit from a Sam’s Club membership. And although I know it will probably be much busier there for those of us who are members, we might have to see about making a stop because I’ll bet there will be lots of samples! 🙂
Thanks to Paul again for this great tip!
