What was once the beloved West Side Bait Shop & Beer is now The Outpost at Cheney Lake.
This is the shop where you go if you run out of something while camping on the southwest end of the lake. It looks like they’re going to have everything you could need, including propane refills and ice!
According to the website, theoutpostks.com, they’re even going to eventually have kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes you can rent. (That’s super exciting for those of us who can’t or don’t want to tow all of those out to the lake!)
The new owners have been hard at work getting everything open this spring — and now that the store and the cafe are up and running, they’ve planned a grand opening celebration.
At the grand opening party, which is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., they’ll have food, drinks, live music and games.
Live music will be provided by the family classic rock band Potz & The Meat Sweats. Games will be giant beer pong, cornhole, and giant tic-tac-toe.
The menu includes a tri-tip steak special, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and wraps as well as mixed drinks and, of course, beer.
Last call for food and alcohol will be 9 p.m.
The store had a soft opening on Friday, April 15 and has been taking care of the early-season crowd.
