On Saturday, August 14, bring the family downtown for a full day of food, art, music, and fun. The first-ever Taste of Wichita event will benefit two important charities: The Lord’s Diner and Food 4 Kids.

Enjoy live performances by local musicians, shop the Art and Wine Walk, and sample great food from local restaurants on Restaurant Row. There will be hourly Dave Matthews Band ticket giveaways, kids’ activities, a local artists’ marketplace, and other family-friendly fun.

Taste of Wichita begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. A $20 wristband gets you in for the whole day (kids’ wristbands are $5), and includes all Taste of Wichita samplings and fun. Purchase yours at Genghis Grill or any local Papa Johns.

Admission prices:

* Adult Wristband: $20 (Includes all Taste of Wichita Samplings and Fun)
* Kids 5 – 12 Wristband: $5 (Includes all Taste of Wichita Samplings and Fun)
* Kids 4 & under Wristband: Free (Includes all Taste of Wichita Samplings and Fun)
* Adult VIP Wristband: $50 (Includes all Taste of Wichita Samplings and Fun as well as admission into the VIP Lounge which will be set up inside the air conditioned Eaton. The VIP Lounge will include a dessert bar, wine tasting, massage, photos, a silent auction and so much more)

Taste of Wichita combines several key elements that make this fun filled event come to life:

Food – Local restaurants of all kinds will line “Restaurant Row” as they serve up their signature dishes to hungry guests. (Some of the restaurants include: Carabba’s, Chester’s Chophouse, Yia Yia’s, The Newport Grill, Freddy’s, Papa Johns, Genghis Grill, Linkhaus, Hanger One Steakhouse and many more)
Music – Local musicians will take the stage throughout the day to entertain and delight.
Art – The Art & Wine Walk will include art on display for purchase by local artists, as well as wine from around the globe.
Fun – Hourly Dave Matthew Band Ticket Giveaways, Kids Activities, a marketplace
Culture – Multicultural cuisine, art, vendors, and entertainment
Family – A family friendly environment with activities for the whole family to enjoy
Community – This event not only highlights Wichita’s beautiful downtown, it also positions Wichita as a great place to live, work, and play.
Charity – This day of fun will benefit in part two very important local charities. The Lord’s Diner who serves an average of 400 Wichitans in need hot, nutritious meals 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No More Hungry Kids backpack program. An on-site food drive will be held to support the City of Wichita program that fills backpacks of food for under privileged school children. See Taste of Wichita website for items needed. When you bring one of the items on the list you will get entered in the drawing to win a Dave Matthews band meet & greet for two. One entry per person, must be 18 years or older to enter.
