The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will showcase the best athletes across the world with events hosted at iconic venues like the Eiffel Tower. New sports like breakdancing will make their debut while traditional events continue.
Over 10,000 athletes from around the globe will compete for gold at the Summer Olympics. Among them are nearly 600 members of the U.S. Olympic team, ready to represent their country and aim for victory. Let’s go, USA!

Where to Watch the Olympics 2024:
- NBC (USA): As the primary broadcaster for the Olympics in the United States, NBC will offer comprehensive coverage, including live events, highlights, and in-depth analysis.

Fun Facts about the 2024 Summer Olympics & Kansas Athletes:
- Derrick Mein is from Paola and graduated from Kansas State. He will be in the 2024 Olympics, competing in the men’s Trap Shooting.
- Joel Embiid will play for the USA men’s basketball team and he was a former KU basketball player.
- Laura Galvan, who is a former Kansas State track-and-field athlete, will represent Mexico as a distance runner in the women’s 5,000-meter race.
- Ariana Dirkzwager will Swim in the Olympics for her mother’s country, Loas.
- Eugene Omalla will run the men’s 4×400 relay for The Netherlands.
- Leticia Romero is a former K-State women’s basketball player is now a member of hte Spanish women’s team.
- Murphy Sheaff is a goalkeeper and was asked to be the reserve for the New Zealand women’s national team.
- The 2024 Olympics will use several iconic Parisian landmarks, including beach volleyball at the Eiffel Tower and road cycling along the Champs-Élysées. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Stade de France.
- Baseball, Softball and Karate were cut from the 2024 Olympics.
- Paris 2024 aims to be the most sustainable Olympics yet, with plans to use 95% existing or temporary venues. The games will emphasize reducing carbon emissions, promoting eco-friendly transportation, and minimizing waste.
