If you haven’t been to Botanica in a while, it’s about time to experience Wichita’s finest botanical attraction again. This Summer and Fall are full of events and programs at Botanica, bringing you a whole new experience every time you visit. These events are reoccurring, so you have plenty of time to visit Botanica. 

Reoccurring Events at Botanica

In July 2023, Botanica is bringing back Wet &Wild Wednesdays, continuing the buzzworthy Busy Bee Wednesday program to celebrate bees, and introducing their newest exhibit, “Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors.” Check out Botanica’s website for a full list of events, tours, classes and more.

Make a Splash! Wet & Wild Wednesday -FREE with Admission

Celebrate summer with a splash at Botanica’s Wet & Wild Wednesdays event. The water-filled event takes place every Wednesday from July 12th – August 16th. Included with general admission, the event takes place from 10am – 2pm and visitors can enjoy water play on the Grand Lawn with sprinklers and water toys. It’s a great way to cool off after making your way through the colorful gardens, greenhouse, and children’s area.

Buzz Around with the Bees! Busy Bee Wednesday – FREE with Admission

Join Botanica for an un-BEE-lievably fun program! Every week, Botanica invites guests of all ages to participate in educational beekeeping activities as part of their weekly program, Busy Bee Wednesday. Highlighting those buzzworthy insects, Busy Bee Wednesday occurs each Wednesday through September in the Alexander Bee House from 9am-1pm and is included with admission. This year’s demonstration hive bees are being provided and supported by WW Bee Ranch, R & J Bee Rescue and Juniper Clay Honey.

Dinosaurs Around the World Exhibit – FREE with Admission

Through September 17, 2023, visitors can experience the one-of-a-kind, “Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors,” exhibit at Botanica. The exhibit is included with general admission and features 10 animatronic dinosaurs nestled in throughout the gardens. Several of the dinosaurs are over 27 feet long! Visitors are encouraged to learn and make memories with these enormous kings of the past. Dinosaurs include the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex of North America, the bizarre, bony-crested Oviraptor from Mongolia, and many more! The exhibit will be accompanied by dino-riffic daily activities, art projects, dino tours, giant dinosaur puzzles and special events.

There’s Always More to See within Botanica’s Gardens

The 20 acres of the ever-changing botanical wonderland houses more than 30 themed areas and over 4,000 plant species. As guests wind through the gardens, they will also discover additional gems. Inspiring sculptures, relaxing water features, and even a ride on a restored 1949 carousel means Botanica is fun for the whole family.
