It’s already time for Gingerbread Village! Readers have told me this is a treasured family tradition, touring the professionally-designed gingerbread houses and then making one of their own to take home.
Gingerbread Village is a fundraiser organized by the Assistance League of Wichita to benefit Wichita Public Schools’ “Operation School Bell” program, which provides new clothing, backpacks, and grooming kits to students referred by school social workers.
This year’s event is being held at the Beech Activity Center, November 11-13.
Says Anita, who wrote me with the details about this year’s Gingerbread Village: “We are a non-profit group, and we FULLY clothed over 4,000 Wichita Public School students last year with the proceeds from this event. It’s a GREAT family event!!!”
