Purple Martin Spectacle – Wichita Audubon Society

Sharing is caring!

The Wichita Audubon Society invites everyone to join them Wednesday evening, August 3, 2011 to witness the thousands of purple martins roosting near Via Christie – St. Francis as they prepare to head south for the winter. The group will meet at 8 p.m. at the Via Christi parking lot at Murdock and Santa Fe, just west of the railroad tracks. And… they suggest you wear a hat. 🙂

If I was a purple martin, I would rather head north for the rest of this summer.

There was an article about the purple martins in the paper if you’d like to learn more about the spectacle. For more information about the Wednesday evening meeting, go to the Wichita Audubon Society website or its Facebook page.
