Kansas Tartan Stone Presentation

Sharing is caring!

Master stone carver Dr. Frank Maurer of Davis, Calif., has handcrafted a Kansas-themed Tartan Stone, a carved piece of Limestone depicting Kansas state symbols, and will present it to Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Maurer, who has presented similar stones in other states, uses this donation as a way to share his Scottish ancestry.

The Wichita Caledonian Pipes and Drums Band will also march and play during this free, public event. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy.

A short reception in the main library will follow the presentation.
